EtonHouse Toranomon Preschool
Ages: 15 months to 6 years
EtonHouse International Pre-School Toranomon provides a diverse and multicultural English language environment for ages 15 months to 6 years of age.
Curriculum
The EtonHouse “Inquire.Think.Learn curriculum” is inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach. In this approach, inquiry and play are used to build learning experiences that support your child’s ideas and theories. Through inquiry and exploration our educators support children’s natural curiosity and challenge them to solve problems independently. Children develop critical thinking skills and a passion for learning that will serve them well even as adults.

Year Level Placement
Cut-off Date: 31st August
Children are placed in grade levels according to their age as of 31st August prior to entering the school year.

Placement Policy:
Our academic year runs from late August to mid-June, with an age cut-off date of 31st August. Final placement is determined after reviewing the student’s age, academic background, and social-emotional development.

Allison Banbury

Allison is passionate about early childhood education and has dedicated her career to working with young learners. For over 25 years she has held senior leadership positions in schools in the UK and in Hong Kong, where she has lived for the past 12 years. Allison joins EtonHouse Japan after a four year tenure as the principal of a large international kindergarten.
She believes that young children should be protagonists of their own learning supported by teachers who intentionally plan engagements and environments that embrace children’s interests; build on their expertise; provoke thinking; and promote learning. She values play as a medium through which children can make sense of their world, and she recognises the importance of giving children time to explore, discover, think and learn. Allison is a team player and knows that working collaboratively builds strong and effective practice across a school. Being in a school with a strong sense of community is very important to her. She understands that a close partnership between home and school can have a profound impact on children’s self identity, sense of belonging and on their learning.
